Central Park / Dream Mall

中央公园 / Dream Mall

I went Taiwan once again, this time, it’s with Wei An. This is a travel post on Central Park and Dream Mall,Kaohsiung.

Central park is one of the most visited area in Kaohsiung city. The famous central park houses some big shopping malls. Right in front of the KRT station, there is a park opened to public. The park was quite big and was decorated with many plants, flowers and beautiful green grass. Beside that park, it’s the Urban Spolight (城市光廊).

Urban Spotlight (城市光廊) was one of the artistic walkway in Kaohsiung city. There are some pubs and cafes on the walkway catered to art and music lovers. During the evening, the walkway will be lighted up with colourful lights. Though, I only passed by during my trip but I can say it’s quite a nice place to slack around.

I stayed at that area during my trip, so I walked the malls, streets and area quite often during this trip. The malls and streets right in front of the KRT exit were quite some great places for shopping and foods. There were tons of local snacks and many stalls selling clothes, accessories and stuffs. If you are wondering where to shop in Kaohsiung other than in the night market areas, this is the place you should come.

During my trip, I dined at T.G.I.F for lunch. The foods come in quite a huge portion, we spend around S$20+ at the restaurant. We both had a main course, drinks, sides and lastly, desserts. The staffs were friendly and nice, so, I think it was pretty worth every penny paid.

Speaking of shopping, another place that you shouldn’t miss is Dream Mall. It’s another big shopping mall that the locals often visit. The size of Dream Mall (梦时代) is as big as our Vivo City. Yup, I am not kidding you, it’s that big! We spend like 2 hours there and we cannot finish exploring the mall. What’s the amazing thing about this mall is that, there is a ferries wheel at the top of the mall. It also houses a cinema, big brand names like Uniqlo too.

FYI, to get to Dream Mall, you can take the KRT and alight at Kaisyuan (凯旋) station. Once you alighted and exited the building, go take shuttle bus to Dream Mall. You can also visit their website here to find out more.

In conclusion, there are a lot of shopping places in Kaohsiung and it only depends on your budget and travel time. I believed with enough planning, everything should goes smoothly. Anyway, I have come to the end of this travel post. I hope you guys have enjoyed reading it and do drop by soon for more travel posts!
