East Coast Park (2015)

Good day, peeps! I am here to blog about my recent visit to East Coast Park. Zhi Wei and I visited ECP at around 1600 hrs just to be able to catch the sunset. We went cycling that evening, it was a fun trip even though it was pouring cats and dogs that day. :(

Anyway, East Coast Park has changed a lot since my last visit. It has a number eateries and areas for visitor to rest too. Despite the closing down of certain restaurants at the park, the crowd at ECP is still massive. Bicycles and Roller skates rental stores are now numbered to 2 stores. The rates are still reasonable though, it doesn't differs a lot from my last visit.

St. Marc Bakery & Bar @ Parkland Green
ECP 920, East Coast Parkway #01-09/10, Singapore 449875

Opening Hours:
Weekdays: 1100 hrs ~ 2200 hrs
Weekends: 0900 hrs ~ 2200 hrs
(Closed on Mondays)

So, we rented our bicycles at this first store. The rate is from S$6.00 to s$25.00 per bicycle, the rates are depending on the type of bike you wanted to rent. They have the normal bike to competition bike. They have a lot of bikes to choose from, however, during peak hours, the bikes are limited to one or two per category. Please note that weekends morning and evening are the peak hours.

My bike for the day!

After choosing our bikes, we are given a small slip of paper which indicates our bike numbers. Using that paper, we then made payment and grabbed the bikes. A short distance ride from the store, we can reach the popular ECP's hawker centre where all the foods are located. I still remembered my first meal there with Wenkai, we had the fresh big crab, stingray and many mores.

East Coast Lagoon's Food Village

Other than cycling and good foods, another reason for us being here is for the sunset! As ECP is very near the beach, the sunset is really awesome at times. Just recently, Mediacorp's star Chen Tianwen filmed the trending retro music videos for the trailer for the upcoming Channel 5's sitcom.

Beautiful trail, good exercise for legs and pleasure for eyes!~

Overall, I think I should visit here often in the near future. For my overseas readers, if you wanted to visit East Coast Park someday during your trip to Singapore, the park does not charge any fees as it's opened to the public. It's one great thing to do to spend your evening even for locals here. The park can be access by taking bus 13 from Eunos MRT station and alight at Blk 45, then walk to the park using the underpass at that area.

I guess that's pretty much about my trip to East Coast Park, I think I shall stop my words here. Do drop by soon for more travelogues and interesting reads!~
