Danshui (2015)

Evening peeps! It's Thursday, I am back for another travel post. Woots! Sorry for the wait, I have been dragging my Taiwan travel posts for such a long time. In this post, I will be posting about my visit to Danshui, Taipei (淡水,台北)! I hope you guys will like it!

This is my second visit to Danshui. Danshui is located at the very North side of Taipei and it took about 35 to 40 mins to reach from Taipei central/Shihlin metro station. Danshui is one of the popular tourist spots in Taipei. Reason? Yes, the fisherman wharf and the old streets. During this trip, we did not covered the wharf due to the distance and time constraint. However, we did walked the old streets, visited the Fort San Domingo, took many photos and had a good meal there. There are many stuffs to see, many places to relax and things to eat.

The main street

Our first stop is breakfast! We had our meal at one of the ah-gei (阿給) stores along the main street towards Fort San Domingo. We ordered a number of dishes like tofu, minced-pork rice, dumplings and the popular ah-gei (阿給). Our bill came up to around NT$205. The services was good, staffs were friendly and the foods were pretty tasty.

We then walk the street while doing some window shopping. There are several interesting stores around the main street so we spent about 30 mins around there. There is also a store named Saiyukan (彩遊館) which is similar to Daiso but selling slightly more expensive. However, guess it's pretty nice to see see though. We walked about 15 to 20 mins before reaching our destination at the fort. After finishing our tour around the fort, we also went to the nearby Aletheia University (真理大學) too.

The fort is really big and I spent a meaningful afternoon here that day. I think my friends did too, they took a ton of photos around the fort. We also learnt about bits of Danshui from the fort. It's definitely one of the free things which any tourists should do when coming to Danshui. After exploring the fort and the school, we descended from the hill and went for our high-tea break at Danshui Art Gallery (淡水藝術工坊).

Then, we wrapped our visit at Danshui with the drop by at the old street. The old street covered a short distance towards to metro station. We had ice cream, bought some gifts and had some snacks too. I think coming to Taiwan is like never offing the "kept on eating" mode. Hahas. That's pretty much about my visit to Danshui, I hope you guys have enjoyed this post and please do drop by again next week for another travel post on my visit to Taiwan!
