Lunch at Hokkaido Izakaya
Evening peeps, it's Wednesday! Happy mid-week! Just a few days more till we countdown to the new year. By then, I will be releasing my annual post! So, please watch out for it! Anyway, in this short post, I will be blogging about my visits to Hokkaido Izakaya! Currently, there are 2 outlets in Singapore. One of which is located at Wisma's Japan Food Town and the main outlet at Tanjong Pagar. I had paid several visits to the Tanjong Pagar outlet recently and I guess it's enough for me to share my experiences with everyone here.
Okay, without further ado, let's start with the foods! Hokkaido Izakaya is really popular among Japanese during lunchtime especially on the weekdays. The lunch crowd are usually working community around the area and during my visits, I met a lot of Japanese. The restaurant specialised in soba. In hot and humid Singapore, cold soba are really very popular among customers. I recommend trying the Zaru Soba (ざる蕎麦) which is also the best seller dish of the restaurant. The portion is also quite big and suitable for both ladies and gentlemen. Other than their soba, their seafood are also really fresh and delicious. I recommend their Hokkaido Scallop which is one of the nicest dishes on their menu.
Side dish, Chicken Karrage (鶏ザンギ)
Ala Carte Menu, Kama Yaki (カマ焼き)
One of the best selling sobas, Kakiage Tempura Soba (かき揚げ天麩羅蕎麦)
The restaurant's lunch menu is really generous as customers is able to choose the size of the soba portion. So, for gentlemen, you can choose up to 300g of soba at the same price but I wouldn't recommend that though unless you are really superb hungry. Hahas. The price range for the restaurant will not hurt your wallet much too. The menu price ranges between S$10.00 ~ $20.00 on average. I would definitely recommend at least visit once when you have the time. Service wise, the staffs are responsive and friendly so I have no complaints dining here.
