Yang Ming Shan 2014

陽明山

Welcome back to my blog! In this post, I will be blogging on my recent visit to Yang Ming Shan (陽明山). It's been 2 years since my last visit to this place. This time round, I am much more clever. I wore 4 layers of clothings to keep myself warm enough to take more photos and explore more around the mountain. Lesson learnt from my 2012's visit. Lols. So, I believed this post will give a much better insights and more reasons to visit the annual flower festival held on Yang Ming Shan (陽明山). Without further ado, I shall kick start this post then!

As this time round, I stayed nearby Shilin Night Market and it's much nearer to the mountain. From the Jiantan MRT station, we boarded the bus which directly go to the mountain. You can spot the bus stops easily once you exited from the exit (1) of the MRT station. The ride to the mountain will take around 20 minutes (+/-) and these days, you can pay your fare via Easycard (悠遊卡). So, it's very easy to get around.

The Main Bus terminal at Yang Ming Shan

After the bus comes to the main coach terminal, there are 2 buses to explore the mountain. For the flower exhibition, there will be local guides around the terminal stating what bus goes to what places on mountain. Listen carefully and ask if you are unsure! My first bus ride, we took the wrong one and thus, we detoured the whole mountain on bus! :(

By the way, in my opinion...In March, it's not ideal to travel to see the other attractions on the mountains as everything would be covered in mist and fog, there is nothing much to explore either.

Anyway, once you reached the main flower exhibition central, there will be shops and essential amenities around. Of course, there will be a lot of beautiful flowers and many tourists around too. Even the locals loved to visit the mountain during the flower season as the Sakura flowers were blooming.

This is Yang Ming Shan!

We were really excited. While I was taking photos of the flowers around the main area, Raven also hops around seeing the flowers too. Hahas, she was so happy because this is her first time to the mountain and seeing these things which you will never see in Singapore. Anyway, we also took a stroll down the shops and Raven bought noodles to share while I bought drinks. The whole visit last about an hour or more before we left for our hot spring visit at Beitou. In conclusion, it was an awesome and cooling visit of the whole of my Taiwan trip. I am sure I will be back again someday! Hahas.

The building is more of like a tourist shopping place than like a temple

The noodles tasted really not bad!

I have come to the end of this short and sweet travel post. I hope that you have enjoyed reading it and be sure to drop by my blog soon for more updates! :D
