Zi Qiang Night Market
自强夜市
Zi Qiang Ye Shi(自强夜市) is nearby Hualien city(花莲市). It a 10 to 15 minutes cab ride to reach there from the city. In the night market, there are game machines, foods and drinks. I don't think you can find any restroom there, it's best you settle your business in your hotel room before visiting. But if you really need a restroom then, you can approach any store personnel there to ask them where's the nearby restroom.
We then start our food journey...our first stop is at this store, '酱爆鸡排'. We bought the honey flavoured one(蜜汁鸡排). The chicken cutlet was sprinkled with honey powder. It taste quite different to the '豪大大鸡排' we had in Shilin. It's refreshing and it's not very sweet. It really suits my taste, hahas. Each piece sells at NT$50.
Then, we queued up for the famous BBQ meat at this famous store, '第一家烤肉串'. There are many variety of meats to choose from, mainly from beef, pork, chicken, fish and many more. The price is indicated on the meat's tray. Do take note, this is really a very famous store at the night market. We waited there like 30 mins for our foods. If you wanted to try, come earlier. (:
While waiting for the BBQ meat to be ready, you can walk around the night market. We continued our food journey...and then, we stopped by this store, '第六摊牛排'. Zi Qiang Ye Shi(自强夜市) is famous for their hotplate beef steak. So we decided to drop by this store to try one. As the name of the store suggested, this is the 6th hotplate beef steak's store in the night market. Anyway, we ordered one plate of noodles and one hotplate beef steak with noodles, shared among 3 of us. So the portions are still alright for us. Both the noodles and beef were great, noodles was really Q.
After lot of eating, it's time to go for a drink. We stopped by this store(妙不可言果汁店) at the entrance of the night market. Well, it's one of the famous store in the night market. So it's a must-not-miss store, Calvin and I ordered strawberry milk and Jason ordered watermelon juice.
After our drinks, we went back to the BBQ store to collect our food. OMG, the food taste so nice, it makes me fell really worth it to queue for it. Anyway, it's not very burnt and taste really quite not bad. The sauce is really awesome.
