Beitou: March 2013

北投

Note: This is review post on my trip to Taipei, Taiwan. FYI, I went on this trip with my friend, Wei An. Subject on Beitou (北投).

Beitou Metro Station

This is my second visit to Beitou (北投) and yup, indeed, it was fun and memorable. We had lunch at 24小吃店 before we leave for hot spring (温泉). For lunch, I ordered the same noodle dish as the previous year! Lols, the taste of the delicious noodles still lingers on my tongue. This time round, I also ordered their braised beancurd and egg. I am already missing their noodles right now...Anyway, the lunch cost us less than S$5.00 (And that's for 2 pax dining-in).

As featured on the "食尚玩家"...hmm!

It is March again, as usual, the temperature over at Taiwan is around 16 to 20 plus degrees. It is just the right timing to enjoy the hot spring. We visited the public hot spring (温泉) and spend around 1 hour there before we leave the place to explore the Beitou's area. For visitor, please bring along your swim wear, towels and plastic bags as these stuffs will not be included in your entry package (Each entry is NT$40). Note: No phototaking is allowed inside the public hot spring premises.

The Public Hot Spring

The entry ticket to the hot spring

After our hot spring session, we went explored around the area of the public hot spring and took some nice photos. There is a library, beautiful park and several hot spring hotel(s) around the area. Another thing to take note, you must take another metro train from Beitou station(北投站) to Xinbeitou station(新北投站) to see all these. The train towards that station is cute and packaged as a hot spring themed train (Like those Disneyland's Metro trains).

Exploring further down from the public hot spring is the open-air free hot spring area. But the hot spring water at the area is not as deep as those in the public hot spring's pool, so you can only see most people only dip their foot into the water (Kind of like a foot spa instead).

We stayed at Xinbeitou for around 3 hours before leaving, I think that's is enough long for most people to finish exploring the hot spring area. Nevertheless, we enjoyed ourselves and I recommend you guys to come here and visit if you are going to Taiwan for travel. I shall stop my words here then, wrapping this post up with a nice photo of the Xinbeitou's metro station.
