Sundown Marathon 2014
It's Wednesday again, 2 more days to the weekend! Hang in there, peeps! Today, I am back here to blog about my experience at Sundown Marathon 2014. It's the 7th edition of the run and this time round, I participated in the 21KM category. It was my first time running a 21KM marathon and it also my life's longest run. I am really happy that I am able to finish the run without breaking down too much, hahas. I felt really awesome and good after my run.
Many runners (On Facebook) have mentioned that this year's Sundown was not as great as the previous years. For me, I think the running event is still okay. I got everything I wanted, water and 100 plus all the way from my starting point to ending point. I read some comments on their official Facebook page, some runners did not get 100 plus till the 13KM checkpoint and that's disappointing. The overall running experience was okay, the cheer teams were pretty enthusiastic and the helpers/crews are friendly too.
The run took place at F1 race pit as usual and the flag off timing for my category is 0030 HRS. Other categories went off earlier and the first category to wrap up is 10KM. 21KM came in second while 42KM runners came in last. There are massage booths, mobile toilets, 100 plus booths and some sponsor booths at the race village. As read on many news website, this year run attracted over 30,000 runners. In my opinion, Sundown Marathon is one of the prestige runs in Singapore. The registration fees is much lower for loyal runners and it is one of the reasons which I joined the marathon this year.
