Rinia Railway Museum
Evening peeps! Sorry for the late update and I am back tonight for another quick travel post on my recent visit to Rinia Railway Museum (リニア鉄道館) also known as the SCMAGLEV and Railway Park. This museum is located in Nagoya City, Aichi prefecture. Note: The museum is one of the popular attractions in Nagoya.
Managed by JR Central, the museum is quite big and the nearest subway station is Jinjo Futo station (金城ふ頭駅). It's only 2 minutes walk from the station. The museum housed exhibits of the finest railway technologies and histories of Japan railway. The exhibits and the activities here are family oriented and family friendly. There are sufficient restrooms and essential amenities in the museum. Entry to the museum cost ¥1,000 for adults, ¥500 for primary/secondary students and ¥200 for children.
The displays in the museum are really nice and personally, I felt really worth it to pay a visit to the museum. In the museum, you get to see the interior of many JR trains from Shinkansen to the local trains (新幹線や普通列車など). It also housed one of the personal faves, the Shinkansen route map in 3D, from the Kanto region to Kansai region of Japan. Everyday, the museum also draw lots for visitors to have a chance to experience piloting a Shinkansen train. However, per simulation will cost additional of ¥500 and visitors can opt for the priority queue for the try at addition ¥100.

The museum also housed a cafe which visitor can purchase theme bento and drinks. I didn't have the chance to dine here as it was really late when I visited the cafe and most of the bento are sold out. But the packaging of the bento looks so good. Anyway, I wrapped my visit at the souvenir store located on the first level of the museum.
I think that's pretty much about my visit here. I hope the information I shared here are useful to you and able to help you guys plan your itinerary for Nagoya! That's all, please come back again this Sunday for another weekly update! Cheers!!
