Furano
Evening peeps, it’s Sunday! I am back for another weekly update. In this post, I will be sharing about my visit to Furano, Hokkaido. Furano is located in the central part of Hokkaido (Nearer to Sapporo). It’s really popular during the summer season due to blooming of flowers and especially, Lavender.
Lavender here usually bloom around end July to mid-August. The top destination that one wouldn’t want to miss is Farm Tomita. This farm is really popular and during Summer, it’s crowded with locals and tourists. Other than Lavender, the farm also housed several other variety of flowers. The farm area is really big and has mainly 2 parts. One which focused on Lavender while one focused on yubari melon.
Can't resist the melon

A must-try in the farm, lavender soft serve!
One can easily spend 1 whole afternoon taking photos, visiting the gardens and so forth. The farm doesn’t charge entry fees but it’s about 10 mins walk from JR Naka-Furano station (中富良野駅).
A short 10 mins walk from Furano station takes you to Furano Marche. One of the popular shopping areas in the town. The area housed cafes, light foods bars, supermarket and several souvenir stores. It’s a place to stroll your time away while waiting for your train back to Sapporo.

This very cute koban beside it
Furano is a small town in Hokkaido but personally, it’s really worth it to visit at least once in your lifetime. If you cannot afford visiting the popular farm in France, Farm Tomita will be a much affordable option for us, Singaporean. I really enjoyed my trip here. I hope my experience and this post will help you in your planning to Hokkaido this Summer! I shall stop my words here then, thanks for dropping by and see you in the next post!
