This year's birthday trip is to Taipei, Taiwan! It's been almost 5 years since my last visit. A lot had changed but I managed to find out the ways and routes to places somehow. This time round, I brought my parents along. Though, there are some upset moments at the beginning of the trip but we managed to overcome it and overall, we did enjoyed our stay at Taiwan.

I met up with my good Japanese friends, Sayana and Noriko-san for dinner at the newly opened posh restaurant, Koma, located in Marina Bay Sands Shoppes. Its fushimi inari-ish* tori gates at the entrance of the restaurant is one whom will not miss shopping in at the Shoppes. Sayaka and Noriko-san are very friendly, polite and patient in listening to me and make me comfortable to speak in Japanese more. I feel that I am not as good as my peers whom are able to speak Japanese fluently these days. Even though, I passed my JLPT N2, I feel that I am still lacking in my conversational part. Hopefully, I can work on it and make it more natural. Anyway, I was really happy that I met Sayana and Noriko-san. They are really supportive of me taking up Japanese as my third language. Without them, I guess my chances of conversing in Japanese will be even lower. Food were delicious, service were fantastic and I really love the ambience. However, the price tag is pretty steep. You will not dine here every day unless there is any special occasions. In conjunction of Halloween, I wrapped the gifts from Taiwan in Halloween-ish bags and gave it to Sayana and Noriko-san. I am glad that they love it.

After my lesson, Tsurumi sensei, Benjamin and Raymond-san joined me for dinner to celebrate my birthday in advance. We dined at Tokichi tonkatsu restaurant. Everyone knows I love Japanese cuisine, so they didn't objected on the place for dinner. Hahas. Anyway, we chatted as usual. Out of class, we usually have casual chit-chat. It was an enjoyable and pleasant experience for me and this is why I love going for lessons every week and looking forward to Japanese lessons. Not just to strengthen my foundation but also correcting my mistakes and increase my chances of speaking Japanese. Like I did for Sayana and Noriko-san, I wrapped the gifts from Taiwan in a Halloween-pish bag and distribute to everyone. I am glad that everyone love it too. :)

Messages and greetings came flooding into my phone. I really appreciated it, thanks peeps! Well, I went to office for work as usual. Work is piling up after holidays from Taiwan. What make it worse is that I am the only one left in my team...Anyway, my day was brighten a little bit when my bosses brought me for lunch at Menichi Ramen. As a ramen lover, I really enjoyed my birthday lunch. Hahas. After lunch, I went back office to tidying up some work before leaving as it's my actual birthday afterall. I reached home early, started editing some photos from Taiwan trip and planning my upcoming Japan trip. Meanwhile, also preparing for my appointment board. Dinner was takeaways from KFC and Pizza Hut, wrapped up my birthday with my birthday cake.

I met up with my S.H.E. for belated birthday dinner and Karaoke. Totally have a blast and really must thank them for brightening up my day and life. We had dinner at my fave ramen restaurant, Ippudo and then bought cheesecakes from Cat and the Fiddle over to Minekineko for the celebration. I must say that Wendy and Wenya are both important people in my life, without them, my life wouldn't be as colourful today? Probably. I sounded a bit weird here but I hope they felt the same way about me too.

Yesterday, I met up with Flex and Can-san for a Japanese exchange event held at Japan Rail Café. Basically, we are seated and have conversations with native Japanese university students. Well, to Flex and I, we find it hard to express ourselves as our Japanese vocabularies pretty limited. Given our N2 standards, it also hard to converse in difficult topics like economy and social issues. However, that's something probably we all look into to make our conversation much smoother and enjoyable. Yes, we did conversed a lot during our travels in Japan but we are basically talking about daily stuffs like as weather, "have you eaten", "what did you eat", those kind of topics. After the event, Flex, Can and Can's ex-student Jing Chong went for my belated birthday dinner at Botan Japanese restaurant. Overall, it was good time spent.

I pretty much wrapped up all my birthday celebrations. Moving on, I shall share about my thoughts and wishes for my future. Hmm...I think as people ages, people tends to think more and reflect much more often. It's almost human instinct, I guess. I feel like time really flies, it's a flip of coin and phew, I am 30 years old already. Just recently, I also received my notification for the change of NRIC.

My life has been pretty much busy since I got into university, night classes and weekends classes. Race trainings and gym sessions making up my schedule...It's never been easy to juggle with so many things at one go. I always tried my best to manage work, studies and relationship, however, I am human afterall and sometimes, things did go wrong. Even things like forgetting to bring out my ezlink card to work and similar small mistakes do happens. I learnt a lot from my superiors, friends and the reality along the way. Nevertheless, I feel that every seconds, minutes and hours are precious and life should be meaningful. To me, learning, accompanying your loved ones and working hard are meaningful things in life. At the end of the day, you gained experiences, bonds and things which money cannot buy. I also felt that I am contributing something.

I am start another new chapter in my life. I have enrolled myself in my Masters programme and also looked for a new job. I will also be attending my official convocation for my Specialist Diploma in Mobile Applications Development. As for travels, yup, I hope to travel more these coming years. To explore Japan more, to also practise my Japanese more. I hope someday, I will be able to speak much fluently in Japanese afterall, it's my third language. I will expecting myself to graduate from Ikoma these coming years too. Relationship, hmm...I probably have given up on this? Nevertheless, I will now leave this to fate. Friends and family, yes, definitely I will try to spend more time with them whenever possible.

Thanks everyone for the sweet presents!
