Osu Kannon (2018)
Evening peeps! I am back for another weekly update. In today's post, I will be wrapping up my Aichi's travel series with my visit to Osu Kannon. Osu Kannon (大須観音) is one of the popular tourist spots in Nagoya city and Aichi prefecture. The Kannon temple is one of the notable Buddhist temples in the prefecture which attracts hundreds of visitors and tourists annually. Beside the temple lies the ever bustling shopping arcade which in Japanese, we called Shotengai (商店街). Tourists would not miss this after visiting the temple as it's one of the very popular shopping arcades in Nagoya.

One of the must-eat snacks when coming to Osu Kannon is none other than the Soy-Sauced Dangos from the traditional brand, Taifukucha-an (鯛福茶庵). There are also other favours available however, I would recommend the soy-sauced one. Each stick cost around ¥90 less tax. As the shop name suggested, they specialised in Taiyaki (鯛焼き) which are quite popular among the locals too.

One of the biggest Seria (セリア) stores in Nagoya city is also located here. Like Daiso, the store has a number of affordable and good quality household items and life goods. I would definitely recommend coming here to grab some nice souvenirs for your family and friends. The shotengai also housed Japan's first "Alice on Wednesday" retail store. Here, you will be able to get goods like cookies, sweets to light comestics, hair accessories and so forth. What's make this store interesting is its low and small door entrance which mirrored that of the fairytale, so even if you are not shopping for anything, you would still be attracted to take photos or try to enter the shop through the small door.
Other than shopping, there are several restaurants here. I dined at one of the restaurants which I had visted during my last visit. It really brings back memories when I am typing this post. The foods, smell, sights and people are really attracting me to be back someday. Anyway, this restaurant, "" is one of the oldest restaurants in the shotengai, most of the staffs were pretty senior. Personnally, I like their udon as it was clear and very refreshing. Unfortunately, the restaurant has stopped operations as of the time I am drafting this post.
I ended my visit with a cup of coffee at Doutor, one of the coffee chains in Japan. I pretty much summed up my trip and I hope that this post has provided you much insights when visiting Nagoya in your next trip. I will see you all on the next post! Cheers!
