Shi Fen 2014
十份
Yoohoo!! I am back here for another travel post on Shi Fen (十份) and this is my second visit here! Without further ado, let's start off this short and brief travel post! After our visit at Jiu Fen (九份), we went back to Rui Fang station to take the train down to Shi Fen (十份). Shi Fen is a very popular place with a ton of tourists and locals. The ambience was good and it was a great place to release sky lantern!!
Busting train station...see the people? Hahas.
There are a lot of sky lantern stores here and most of the staffs will help you to take photos while you guys prepared to release the sky lantern. Raven and I spent close to an hour to wrap up our visit here. We took our time writing our wishes and stuffs on our sky lantern. It cost NT$200 these days for a colorful lantern, dots. It was more expensive than 2 years back. :(
Nevertheless, we had fun writing and took a few photos around the place. We intended to stay here for a short while so we did not use a lot of time exploring Shi Fen (十份), such as pity...I wanted to spend more time exploring other stops on the Pingxi railway line the next visit. There is a new popular spot which is the "候硐" on the pingxi line, their signature figure here is the cat. So interesting, yea? If only we got time...hahas.
Happy Raven and Me with our sky lantern!
Shi Fen (十份) has much more to offer this time round, probably because that more and more tourists are coming in. There are now much more food and drink vendors and souvenir stores around. Well, that was quite some changes for me since the last visit was one year ago. Fear not of going hungry these days when visiting there. We left the place at around 7 or 8 PM. The night was still young, on our way back, we still seeing tourists flocking in too.
Yummy!! It's "山豬肉香腸"!
Other than releasing Sky Lantern, Shi Fen also offers a beautiful natural waterfall which took the name of mini Niagara Falls. I did went for it during my last visit, I will embed the link below this post for you guys to go read about it. To get to this waterfall, you will need to walk quite a distance thus, I would advise to come early. Note that the train on the Pingxi line arrive at any station in one hour interval. This means that, if you took the 1:30 PM train from Ruifang to Shifen, the next train from Shifen back to Ruifang or any other stations will be another hour later (2:30 PM). The timing I stated here are only for example, please do your research well using their official website here! :)
The Shifen Waterfall
In conclusion of this visit, I enjoyed my stay here! I love the photos took by the staff at the sky lantern store. I think it's definitely one of the must visit places in Taipei if you ever land foot here. I have wrapped up this short travel post and I hope that you got the information that you need here. If not, feel free to drop me comments and queries, I will try my best to answer you guys!! Hahas, though I am not a professional tour guide but you know, I been to Taiwan 3 times now and it's going to be my forth one next year!
