Truly Malaysia - Malacca 2014

Good day, peeps! I am back here for another travel post on Malacca!! This time round, I went with Zhiwei. It's a short and impromptu one. We decided to go on the week itself, hahas! Day 1 started as early as 5:00 AM. I woke up early to prepare to head out for our 2 day 1 night trip to Malacca. I met up with Zhiwei on 6:00 AM at Lakeside MRT. We headed to Paya Lebar where we will be boarding the coach to Malacca. In the end, we were early and so we had breakfast at Mcdonald's.

We boarded the bus at 8:30AM and reached Malacca at around 2:00 PM. Upon reaching the coach terminal, we grab a drink at 7-eleven and headed to hotel on cab. It cost us around RM$20.00 from the terminal to our hotel. The ride was a short 20 mins trip and as we reached, we checked in to our hotel. We washed up and off we go!! :D

Reached the hotel, wee!

I brought Zhiwei to my fave spot at Malacca, Jonker street (雞場街)!! We had lunch and some shopping along the way. Since it's a less than 2 days trip, we grab everything we liked as we don't think we will be back the next time round. We had lunch at the popular chicken rice store, "古城雞飯粒". As usual, I ordered a number of dishes such as their signature kampong chicken, rice balls, fishballs soup and a plate of vegetables too. The bill came up to around RM$40? Not too cheap but pretty worth every penny as I had a really filling meal. :)

Another one of the must-eat snacks at Jonker street is the durian puffs! We bought a pack of 6 and they were delicious and tasty! I think most Singaporeans would love it too. Anyway, we had the popular one where even Taiwanese travel shows also visited too.

We also went shopping at San Shu Gong (三叔公). I bought a box of banana crackers while Zhiwei bought some pastries and fruit crackers for his mum. We spent roughly 2 hours at Jonker before heading back to hotel to put all our things. Anyway, if you missed my previous travelogue on Malacca, San Shu Gong (三叔公) is actually a very popular gift store where you can get pastries such as Lao Po Bing (老婆餅), Dou Sha Bing (豆沙餅), Ma Ti Bing (馬蹄餅) and etc;. It also sell coffee and tea packs too. Adding to that, they also have a cafe selling coffee, tea, durian chendol and some light snacks too. It's a shopping stop to rest your tiring feet after walking the Jonker street.

Back at hotel, we rested a while before heading out for K session and dinner at Pahlawan mall. We visited Dreambox for our K session, the bill came up to around RM$49++ (est' S$20~). The session was 2 hours and it comes with 2 drinks and snacks. We split the bill and each of us pays less than S$10! Hahas, insanely cheap as compared to our K Box or Party World here.

After singing K, we toured the mall a while before going for our dinner. In the end, we headed back to Jonker Street to grab street snacks. Gosh, I thought that I would never be going back there just that afternoon...Phew, it was crowded!! Due to the popular weekend's night market happening on the street, we had hard time buying foods. However, it was quite an experience for me though I have been there multiple times. Hahas. Anyway, we had a great time getting delicious and tasty foods such as the twisted potatoes snack, muachi (麻糍), dimsum (點心), Taiwanese sausages and rojak too. Well, we spent less than S$10 for all that (I supposed?).

After getting all our foods, we headed back to our hotel to rest and retire for the night. Hmm...the next day also started pretty early as our coach departs from the coach terminal at 10:00 am. So, we woke up early for the hotel's buffet breakfast. Then, we washed up and left for the coach terminal. Hmm...It was a really short getaway and I believed Zhiwei also agreed and did enjoyed the stay at Malacca. I hope the next time, when I visited Malacca again, it would be another new experience! For now, I have pretty much summed up trip and I hope that this travel post did helped you to get some insights on Malacca. I guess I shall stop my words here then. Be sure to be back for more reads!! :)
